UP Sambhav Portal Launched

On 18 May 2022, the Minister of Energy and Urban Development launched the Sambhav portal at sambhav.up.gov.in. This Sambhav platform will monitor the complaints, schemes, programs and policies of the departments. Sambhav will serve as an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform for flagging the complaints received from the public to the concerned authorities, who have been provided with the login ID. The officers have to file their response and action report (ATR) on the relevant issues. The Sambhav portal will also have the facility of video conferencing and tele-conferencing for interaction with the officers.

Sambhav is a multi-modal platform which has been launched for speedy and effective disposal of public grievances and to provide good governance and make public service delivery transparent and accountable. Sambhav Portal will take complaints and issues from various sources including pending cases and grievances under Chief Minister’s Public Hearing/Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) system.

“In the electricity department, for example, the executive engineer (EE) will take up public grievances every Monday from 10 am to 12 noon, while at the circle level, the superintending engineer (SE) will take up public grievances every Monday from 3 pm to 5 pm. Will take up complaints. The MDs of each discom will take up public grievances every Tuesday from 10 am to 12 noon. Ministers and high level officers will take up public grievances on every third Wednesday of the month from 12 noon.

This was another example of a global system for local services. The existing systems and mechanisms of the State Government will continue to function in the prescribed manner and the existing public hearing system will continue to function as before.
